Protodioscin is the biologically active furostanol saponinfrom the Tribulus terrestris fruit (root?) of the family Zygophyllacea.

Having its origins in Eastern Europe and Greece, this branching weedy shrub or vine, still enjoys immense
popularity, as a rejuvenation tonic, immune system booster and to improve sexual functions, including, libido,
erection and orgasm.

Chemically analyzed, the Tribulus Terrestis contains three groups of active phytochemicals:

• Dioscin, protodioscin, diosgenin and the like. Not only do these boost sexual performance, but also
  regulate & balance hormones, in both sexes.

• Sterols like betasitosterols or stigma. Help maintain healthy prostates by preventing it from swelling
  and protecting it from cancer.

• Proprietary steroidal saponins, currently known as X steroidal saponins, play an integral role in the
  immune system. They are often used as internal or external applications, both, as an anti-viral or antibacterial.

MECHANISM OF PRODOZIN™

PRODOZIN? acts by stimulating the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which plays a role in the conversion of testosterone into DHT (dehydrotestosterone) (Viktorof et al. 1994). In addition, it stimulates the hypothalamus secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH), and not of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).

With respect to improving fertility, PRODOZIN? increases the level of spermatogenesis by stimulating the Sertoli and germinal cells, resulting in increased sperm production. In this process, the conversion of testosterone to DHT is improved, this in turn stimulates the production of Androgen Binding Protein (ABP) in the Sertoli cells. This increase then leads to an increase in the DHT-ABP complex, thereby stimulating the spermatogenesis of the germinal cells. Part of the DHT-ABP complex is transported to the epididymis, which increases the efficacy of maturation of spermatozoa into fertile sperms. PRODOZIN?, when used regularly, has been shown to increase the duration of penile erection and improve ejaculation in males.
